Good for meal planning

I tried the Yummly Pro Subscription for a month, mostly for the meal planning tools. It was pretty handy. I liked getting new recipe ideas based on what I had. The shopping list feature was useful, saved me some time at the store. It felt easy to use overall, no big complaints. I might subscribe again later if I find myself needing more meal ideas.

Helpful recipe guidance

I used one of the Guided Video Recipes for dinner. The instructions were clear. My meal turned out well. It was a good experience.

Good value on the Pro

I signed up for the Yummly Pro Subscription when they had that annual deal, which felt like a good saving compared to monthly. I've been using the Personalized Recipe Recommendations and it's been pretty decent for finding new dinner ideas without much fuss. I also appreciate the Ad-Free Browsing, makes the app feel cleaner. For the price I paid, it's definitely worth it to help with meal planning and trying different dishes each week.

Smart Thermometer is amazing!

I finally got the Yummly Smart Thermometer after seeing it for months, and it's incredible! I made a whole chicken last night, and it came out perfect. The app guided me through every step, no more guessing if it's done. Shipping was super quick too, arrived in 3 days. I'm already looking at what else I can cook with it. Definitely shopping here again and telling all my friends about it!

My KitchenAid oven is connected, does the Yummly app actually do anything cool with it? Or is it just for recipes?

F Faith S. 1 month ago

Oh yeah, it can send recipe steps directly to your KitchenAid oven. So it'll preheat or adjust temps automatically. It's pretty neat.

N Nina 1 month ago

It's not just recipes! You can control your oven for certain recipes right from the app. Saves you fiddling with oven settings.

Hey, anyone know if the Yummly Pro subscription is actually worth it? Or should I just stick with the free app?

M Mia F. 2 months ago

I've had Pro for a few months. The ad-free browsing is nice, and the guided videos are pretty helpful. If you cook a lot, it's not bad.

W Wendy 2 months ago

Depends on how much you use it. I mostly use it for basic recipe ideas, so the free version is fine for me. The personalized recs are cool though.

Anyone compared Yummly to Meater? Looking for a new smart thermometer and can't decide.

S Sophie 2 months ago

I have the Yummly and it's pretty solid. Integrates well with the app and gives good temp readings. Meater's good too though.

I Ivy N. 2 months ago

Meater's a bit more advanced in some ways, but Yummly is usually a bit cheaper and works great for most cooks. Depends on how fancy you want to get.

How easy is it to cancel the Pro subscription if I just want to try it out for a month? Don't want any hassle.

P Paula Whitfield 2 months ago

Super easy. Just go into your account settings on the website or through the app store you signed up with. Took me like 30 seconds.

P Paula Y. 2 months ago

Yeah, I did the free trial and cancelled before I got charged. No issues at all.

Thinking of getting the Yummly thermometer, how far can I actually go from the grill before it disconnects? My patio is pretty big.

J Julia 2 months ago

Yeah, the range is decent, like 150 feet or so in open air. If you're inside, it's less cause of walls. Mine works fine from the kitchen.

A Alex H. 2 months ago

They also have an extender thing you can get, if you need more range. Might be worth checking out if your patio is really huge.

I saw something about a Black Friday deal for the thermometer. Is that usually a good discount, or just a few bucks off?

S Sarah V. 2 months ago

They usually do a decent sale for Black Friday, like 20-30 bucks off. I got mine then last year.

M Mark E. 2 months ago

Keep an eye out for bundles too, sometimes they pair it with a free Pro trial or something extra.

Does Yummly have a student discount for the Pro subscription? Trying to save money where I can.

R Rosa C. 2 months ago

I don't think I've seen a specific student discount mentioned. You might want to check their site or ask customer service.

J Josh 2 months ago

Nah, I haven't heard of one. Maybe try looking for a general promo code online first, sometimes those pop up.
